MARITAL AND FAMILY COUNSELING

Hyères - Var - Online

Believe in yourself to believe in others

You are ...

A couple

You're suffering. You feel powerless to solve your problems, which you experience as a dead end, a failure. You feel a long way from the dreams and promises of the beginning of your relationship. You may be experiencing infidelity, bereavement, difficulties with your children or your family.

You're caught up in the speed of life and routine. You no longer dare to express yourself truthfully.

Parent of a teenager

You're the parent of a teenager or young adult. You no longer recognize your child and feel powerless to help. You feel your child is lost. He's suffering at school, at home.
He doesn't know what he wants to do in life.

You would like your child to have a safe space where they can confide. You would like to share what you're going through.

A family

You're experiencing a conflict, a blocked situation that's causing suffering in your family.
You don't feel understood, you need an interpreter to say things.
It may be because of a bereavement, an inheritance, a conflict or a difficulty in the family.

You'd like to be able to tell the truth in complete safety and, above all, be heard.

My specialties

Couples and expatriation

You want to give your relationship a fresh start. Geographical distance has brought up "old issues" that you want to move beyond: intimacy, in-laws, children, money, projects... You're having trouble finding your place, a balance between the one who works on the spot and the one who follows. You feel that this can drive you apart.

I'll help you rediscover the complicity and momentum needed to experience this time of discovery together.

Couples and entrepreneurship

You have a business, your partner or you work together. You feel trapped between your work and your family, guilty of not spending enough time with them while not being able to "let go" of your business. You're experiencing financial stress and incessant reproaches. You feel like you're losing your partner, even though he means the world to you.

You think his company is more important than you, and you're caught up in a story that's not your own. You suffer his stress and financial problems.

I help you reconnect, take the time to understand what each other is going through and establish a partnership.

Bilingual interviews

Bilingual
interviews

You are English speakers. You speak French but would like to be able to express your emotions in your mother tongue. You're in a relationship with someone who speaks English. You'd like to be on neutral ground where everyone can speak their own language.

I welcome you for a couple interview where everyone can express themselves in English or French.

As an English/French translator/interpreter, I also have knowledge of English culture, having lived in London, Wales and Malta.

I translate what you really mean so that the other person can hear you.

About me

An English/Spanish translator in my first life, I continue to translate what people have inside them and what they want to say to others.

An adventurer at heart, I have traveled the globe solo and then with my family living abroad. I spent a year sailing around the Atlantic with my husband and four children.
During my travels, I asked myself many questions about couples, those I met and my own. "How can we love each other so much and make each other suffer so much?

I continued the adventure, in France, in a more interior way. In addition to working on myself, I took a number of psychology training courses.

I also accompanied my partner on the entrepreneurial adventure with the creation of a startup. Ten years of highs and lows have enabled me to provide to best support business leaders, understanding from the inside the challenges they face, both personally and as a couple.

I like to work with lightness and depth, drawing on the richness of each individual.

Frequently asked questions

First and foremost because you're suffering from your relationship, you feel like you've reached an impasse. You can't manage on your own. You're hesitating between separating or staying. You're at a point of no return and yet you still have feelings. You love him/her despite your arguments. This ambivalence makes you suffer.

It could be the three-year mark, the seven-year mark, an existential crisis in your 40s or 50s, adultery, your partner wanting to leave, anything that's making the relationship complicated. You want to separate, you need help to know if your relationship is over, to see the signs of a definitive break-up. You want me to help you separate intelligently, especially if you have children together.

Some couples need just a few sessions to clarify a situation. Others need more time. It's up to the couple to decide on the length and frequency of their sessions. I recommend coming every fortnight at first, then spacing out the sessions. In the event of a crisis in the couple's relationship, or a conflictual one, I suggest coming every week at first, to set in motion a new way of being together. These are, of course, only guidelines; it's up to the couple to set the pace.

You can make an appointment online, call me at 07 68 72 58 99, send me a text message, or email me at or fill in the contact form on the website.

I'll call you back, if you wish, to talk on the phone and answer your questions in person.

I suggest that couples come either :

  • A couple on a first date
  • Individually before coming as a couple

Indeed, some people need to have some space to themselves to unburden themselves without the presence of the other person, before embarking on marital therapy. It also allows you to see if you have a good connection with me and decide together if it's right for both of you.

In France, marriage and family counseling is not covered by the Social Security system.

However, you can ask your mutual insurance company if they will reimburse you for the sessions.

I have an agreement with the police which covers three free sessions of individual or marital counseling or six sessions if both members of the couple are in the police force.

Frequently asked questions

Sessions take place at my office, 13 rue de la République in Hyères, south of France. A warm and reassuring space with a beautiful view of the island of Porquerolles.

Sessions can take place anywhere in the world, thanks to videoconferencing. I'm flexible on schedules, depending on your time zone. I use Zoom. If possible, I ask the couple to be behind the same screen, using a computer rather than a telephone.

Yes, the sessions are confidential.

Individual sessions before coming as a couple, if you wish, are confidential. You decide what you want to share with your partner.

Sessions with teenagers are also confidential. I don't share what is said with the parents. It's up to the teenager to say what he or she wants.

Family sessions are also confidential, as are individual preparatory interviews if requested.

Confidentiality is essential for greater freedom of speech and inner security.

Thanks to videoconferencing, I can receive people from all over the world. I adapt the schedule to your time zone. I use Zoom for video interviews.

I also consult in English if you or your partner are anglophone.

You can come alone to be heard, to be believed in what you're going through. This will enable you to see the situation differently, to rediscover your "inner compass", what's really important to you. It will give you the confidence to live what you want to live, and the tools to share it.
